HSBC has been named ‘World’s Best Bank for Transaction Services’ at Euromoney magazine’s Awards for Excellence 2018.

The annual awards, which recognise banks for their performance and quality of service, are among the most prestigious in the financial services industry. HSBC also received two further global awards this year: ‘World’s Best Bank for Corporates’ and ‘World’s Best Bank for Public Sector Clients’.

Commenting on HSBC’s transaction services win, Euromoney said: “Over the past year HSBC has pulled together such a strong, focused senior team that their transaction banking offering has been above the rest… this really helps clients too, as everything is focused on giving them the best possible experience.”

Transaction banking is one of HSBC’s key strengths. In a recent Strategy Update, Group Chief Executive John Flint identified it as an area where the bank plans to gain further market share.

HSBC also won six regional and national awards reflecting its international network and wide range of expertise. These were:

• Asia’s Best Bank for Sustainable Finance
• Hong Kong’s Best Bank
• Latin America’s Best Bank Transformation (for HSBC in Mexico)
• Middle East’s Best Bank for Financing
• North America’s Best Bank for Transaction Services
• Saudi Arabia’s Best Investment Bank

The Euromoney titles are the latest in a series of successes for the bank in industry awards. In June, HSBC was recognised as offering the ‘best overall global RMB products and services’ in the Asiamoney Global RMB Poll for the seventh consecutive year.
